Blog Book Tours: Finding Places to Guest Blog

Last time, we introduced you to Google Blog Search, a tool that allows you to confine your search to blogs, and showed you one way to search for blogs to include in your tour. Today, we'll expand on that discussion.

Search for what you write about
If you write mystery novels set in a specific locale, you might look for blogs about that area, whether it's the Adirondacks, the Napa Valley, or South Florida. If your main character is a Gulf War Veteran, you might also consider looking for blogs aimed at them. In short, let your imagination be your guide.

Look for Other Authors Like You
If your work is similar to another author, look for places they've blogged. You should be more expansive then listing a single author in your search. If you write in the style of Laurell K. Hamilton (no relation), you could look for places that talk about her or her style of writing.

Look for Blogs Associated with Physical Appearances
If you're going to appear at a specific book store, look for blogs associated with that book store. If you're doing a book signing in The Villages, find associated blogs.

Next time, we'll talk more about how to guest blog.
